If you haven't seen this striking slideshow showing the toll of drug addiction -- you must. The sheriff's office in Multnomah County, Ore., collected mug shots showing before and after shots of drug-users' faces, and it's impossible to look away from the images. But we fear some of our readers are missing the point: Many are asking, "So how come Charlie Sheen still looks good?"
Sheen has had a rough week: an embarrassing outburst on a nationally syndicated radio show, CBS' decision to stop production of "Two and a Half Men." And he's been hospitalized three times in three months -- most recently, after a night of partying. He's been in rehab a number of times, most recently getting treatment at his own home. We don't know what, exactly, he's been treated for, but celebrity blogs are spreading rumors of addiction -- and that's all you readers can focus on, apparently. Your comments below:
Charlie Sheen has money and has lost all his natural teeth. But you would never know that because of the thousands of dollars and handlers he has working with and for him to make him look good. But he is imploding and its about time.

(Editor's note: He's not too far off about the teeth, actually.)
Charlie sheen is only in his 40's. I think he looks 10 years older, and that's with all his money going to cosmetic surgery.

Charlie Sheen is a millionaire and doesn't live on or close to the street. Eats, drinks, lives well, goes where he wants when he wants. Gets the best physical care, also. $,$$$,$$$ doesn't make cents (sense)!

And a bit of advice from one commenter:
Charlie Sheen: Pay attention. This is what meth looks like on users after a very short time.

i love charlie sheen!
Your a bigger LOSER than "Charlie Sheen"...I'm sure that his family is in shock at the disgrace he has brought to the thier FAMILY...I feel the most sorry for them.
I love Charlie Sheen
I too Love Charlie Sheen...
The thing I think about is he is someones son ! We all try to give our kids the best shot in life. Charlie may have had a little more of the best shot in life and has lost his way. So for his sake and his parents sake we should all be praying for him instead of downing him.
Now on the flip side ! 2 1/2 men are my favorite show ! That is also my relax and forget about everything that is going on in this world. So saying that I really wish Charlie would get his stuff together because what he is doing is affecting more than just his LIFE !
THANKS FOR LISTENING,
TINA v.
Tina V. Well said! He does need our prayers.
It's all about Charlie...He should have aged out of this by now...the guy's got a definite personality disorder...

Charlie is an addict. He would quit using if he could. So would my son.
But he CAN if he WILL. Men, use your NA groups and don't deny what's wrong. You can get clean and stay sober if you follow the NA plan. We all love you, as a real person with a real problem. Let your problem eat at you and go for help and stay with it your whole life, just as if you had diabetes. We love you.
Sheen will either clean up like his father did or else he'll be dead soon. I'm glad they cancelled that adolescent show of his. If they hadn't, the producers probably would have had to change the name of the show to "One and a Half Men, and One Brain-addled Booze-hounding Coke-head."
Charlie Sheen is certainly an addict, but his outbursts show that he is also mentally ill. He's having a total mental breakdown with delusions of grandiosity built in. I hope the people close to him are looking at more than the drugs and alcohol.
I completely agree Mary. He's exhibiting behavior similar to that of bi-polar patients. His self medication through illegal drugs will be the end of him, if the underlying problem isn't adressed.
Charlie Sheen is having a manic episode. I recognize the symptoms because I was bipolar. Pressured speech, random associations, lack of judgment and self-aggrandizment are all part of the set of symptoms. His prior drug abuse was probably a form of self-medication. Don't judge him because this is not the real Charlie Sheen. My heart breaks for him. He can heal from bipolar disorder through diet changes, targeted nutrition, avoiding foods to which he is sensitive and by rebuilding his intestinal health. I did! He can, too.
Even with all of Charlie Sheen's money, have you really looked at him LATELY? Compare the way he looked in the earlier episodes of 2 1/2 Men, to the way he looked in the last few episodes - the ones where is now chasing Rose because he thinks she's married. He's definitely becoming an "after" picture.
I agree w/Maryposa. I've seen the latest 2 1/2 Men shows and was surprised to see his new "look", actually looks older and worn out.
No one, and I mean no one is immune from the chemistry of addictive behavior. Stimulation of the hypothalamus feels so good you just want more. Rats will die from exhaustion if bar pressing provides that kind of pleasure. Humans are basically no different.
wait. charlie sheen looks good? by whose standards?? he looks a nasty wreck!
I don't think Charlie has looked good for years. I've said it many times; that the whole premise of 2 1/2 Men is ridiculous. The character is in his 40s, dresses like someone's dad or grandpa (bowling shirts???), and really isn't aging all that well. That he could continually attract YOUNG, beautiful women is, well, not realistic. In addition, he's a jingle writer, and we are supposed to believe he's filthy rich? LOL.
bonos_rama is dead right, Sheen looks awful this year, wasted and his hairpiece is very obvious. The whole premise has dragged on too long that it is way too far-fetched: a jingle writer as a millionaire? a 40-year old dressing like that? and still able to pick up attractive women? his chiroprator brother unable to afford a place of his own even though his ex-wife has re-married and therefore no longer needs alimony (and you can't tell me that a chiroppactor can't afford support for one kid).
The show needs a jump-start, they should've gone through with the marriage to Chlesea last year and at least had his brother move out but still living nearby to keep him in the storylines.
As a recovering addict, I find myself in an ackward situation, wanting to hate Sheen for his pompous outbursts. Hello! I'm a winner, you're a loser! and I am special and I will never be one of you! His arrogance irks me. However, this is a sick man. He can go on about how he's a winner and how his life is fantastic all he wants...that man is mentally ill, probably from drug abuse; he won't live long if it keeps up. Sane people don't say things like he did on that radio interview. So I have to take a step back and remember how disturbed I was when I was loaded up on narcotics. If I had kept it up, maybe I would have gone crazy too.
He will either surrender to this demon of a disease (yes Charlie...it's a disease), or he will die, surrounded by his piles of cash and his many whores.
Mel Gibson does not play dumb about 9/11 either.
So, Charlie does what he wants & everyone, well a lot of people find it their plight in life to critize him
Frankly its no ones business what he does..U see him on TV or the Movies & that makes U think U are the "Chosen One" to tell him what to do
I think what the problem with these people is they envy his life style so much they find it necessary to say what a revolting person he is
Wake up people..What U say matters less to Charlie If U don't like what h does go wash the dishes or mow the lawn as for me I would live his lifestyle in a minute if I could & I'm 64 years old
Charlie, if U ever need a Buddy call me & we can ride around the world in your Jet
Charlie, hang in there & do what U damn well want to & don't be distracted by anyone
GARY
i agree with you Gary S — we see 2 minutes of the man's life and nearly everyone think they know this man. i don't think for a minute he's sick/addicted/whatever else--i think the man just parties and enjoys his money. and, he can=it's his business as long as he is not hurting anyone.
who knows what's going on with him and the producer? i know i don't and neither does anyone on these boards, but everyone thinks they have the solution to this gossip...
go Charlie!
I wish Charlie Sheen the best and hope he gets help. Most people don't understand the real dynamics of addiction; as I do, because I've lived it. If you have an addicted person, you must realize they are sick, just like diabetes or heart problems. It's different because it is self inflicted, and therin lies the advantage over other medical conditions, you can get better by stopping addictive use. Using subtance when you KNOW it is destructive to you and the people around you, is an "egocentric act". Add ego and piles of money to addiction and you have a really tough problem. I think it is much, much more difficult to overcome addiction if you have money; it leaves you with too many options, and lack of options is usually what makes people save themselves. :-:
I havent had a tv for several yrs. Out of curiosity I saw a clip of 2 and a half men on the internet and am very happy with my lack of tv.
I Love the show (two in a half men)! Charlie Sheen makes the show. There will be no reason to watch if he is not on it... Go Charlie!
# 1 fan :)
One day when CoCo is sitting in a large open vista with his hernia tied to something that looks like a dialysis machine enjoying the wide sweeping views- he will think to himself - 'I had to do it my way.'
Who is everyone kidding??? I saw Charlie Sheen the other night on Piers Morgan and he looked absolutley horrible!! He doesn't even look the same and it is not age that has caused his facial features to change. His addictions have caused his face to age and sink in in places that only happens to an addicts face. To those unaware of addiction and its effects, you wouldn't really notice, but a fellow recovering addict can spot a lying, still using addict anywhere!! And it is not just his appearance - his behavior and mannerisms are clearly a dead give away. Sure he still has some of his wit left, but his eratic behavior and off the wall comments cleary show he is still feeling the effects of his addiction.
