Sensitive eyes? Avoid cow pee

When a crowd of about 50 Aussies started pawing at their suddenly burning, aching eyes, panic set in.

Did somebody release poison gas? (But why would terrorists strike the dairy pavilion at the Royal Adelaide agricultural show?)

No, it’s so, so much worse.

Austrialian health officials were called in CSI-like to investigate the outbreak, Reuters Life! reports. The culprit: Stagnant cow urine.

Apparently wet weather triggered an extra potent pee odor -- murder on the eyeballs.

The ammonia smell sent 20 people to the hospital; 30 were treated by first aid workers. All are OK.

Just something to consider next time your eyes tear up.

Sensitive/burning eyes? Well, I’ll get my revenge by eating them. I think medium rare is about right.

Someone should learn how to spell "Australian."

They also just found out that mad cow disease makes their eyes (the cow's) glow - like they've been fed radioactive food or something....

No, it's because aliens kidnapped them in the middle of the night and implanted a computer chip in each eye. This is what cows with these implants do when they're about to shoot lasers out of their eyes and cook some hay.

Your dry humor cracked me up! Just wait--someone is going to respond to your comment and not even realize it's a joke.

If it affected the humans like that...how do you think the cows feel? They have to live in it, our eyes and theirs work the same way.

True but who could see the cows eyes after theirs stated burning?

Oh FGS these people had to wait until the ammonia affected their eyes? What about their noses, hello, wouldn't that have been the first clue?

sounds like a good place for a shovel and a hose.

I loooove to have cows pee on me but I had to stop because of my irritated eyes. Not even swimming goggles would help.

I had to tell Betsy to stop it. It's a bummer for both of us.

i live close to a dairy and they have these ponds of urine 75x100 feet and theres three or four of them; when the breeze comes my way the smell will gag you and then the eyes start to burn.

Perhaps they should find something else to wash their faces in...?

Pee? Was this story written by a 6 year old?

                        It's called URINE.
