While we are on the subject of toes … that is, the ones not chewed off by a Jack Russell Terrier (see yesterday's gruesome tale): After being tied up and held at gunpoint by a burglar, an Atlanta woman used her toes to type an instant message for help.
Using her feet, Amy Windom managed to open her laptop bag, navigate to AOL Instant Messenger and peck out the message “CALL 911 POLICE” to her boyfriend.
"It took a little while to work it out, but I used the right toe on the touch pad to move the mouse around and then I could right or left click with the right toe and then I used my left foot to clamp down on the power cord and hit the various keys as best I could to type out the messages," Windom told The TODAY Show.

I can deliver a really hard, mean pinch with my toes. I used to do it to my brother under the kitchen table.
I can very easily pick up objects with my toes. It's very handy when I'm standing and want to pick up, say, my cell-phone that I dropped, or a pencil, a piece of laundry, etc. I've been doing it since I was a kid.
in college, met an armless (at the shoulders) man who could beat me at pool. blew me away when at lunch, he opened his lunch box, unwrapped his sandwich and proceeded to eat it, with his feet. they were like hands to him.
oops, unintended double post.
I can pick up things, throw them, open most doors, pinch people, and untie shoes with my toes.
i agree things can be done with your toes..but what i don't understand is why these guys didn't take her computer if they were robbing her?..
I can pick up stuff with my toes, put my sons legos together and pinch people really hard with them. I can also flip people off with them.

I have always been able to pick up things with my toes, even as a child. at 60 years old, (even though I don't try much anymore ;o) ..), I can still pick up pencils and other objects with my toes, just not coins anymore. While my hands have pronounced osteoarthritis, my toes are just fine!!
I can do PUZZLES with my toes (as seen 4:09 minutes into this video). :-)
